As I experiment with dyes,
fabrics, fibers and yarns, I will be adding photos and descriptions.
Most of my 'practice'
shows up as product - and it's a bit easier for me to blog about
something new, so check
here for the latest. |

In March and April 2010 I
experimented with fiber
reactive dyes. |
These
Habotai Silk Scarves
worked well for
sampling.
The first group of
photos shows some of my results based on techniques described in a book
by Mandy Southan: Shibori
Designs and Techniques. |

My
goal is to use similar techniques dyeing my own handwoven fabrics, and
the next photo shows the first 'test' fabric, a lightweight cotton -
pleated and tray dyed. |

The results are interesting!

Now I need
to weave more fabric to dye. |
